Roero hills are stew with sighting towers, medieval castles and baroque residences on the top of villages that keep history and culture of the territory. Many of them are open to the public, and they often host Museums and interesting collections:
- Royal Castle of Govone, a seventeenth-century Savoy residence, a UNESCO heritage site, a place of residence for the King of Sardinia Carlo Felice and his wife Maria Cristina di Borbone, who restored it at the beginning of the nineteenth century, with a monumental entrance by Juvarra and the precious Chinese rooms.

- Medieval castle of Cisterna d'Asti, home to the Museum of Arts and Crafts of the Past. The medieval castle dates back to the 11th or 12th century, but was largely transformed, in the Baroque era, into a noble country residence; the cistern it houses inside gives the name to the entire village.

- Castle of Magliano Alfieri, built starting from the seventeenth century by Count Catalano Alfieri on the site of the medieval fortress, the current sumptuous residence presents itself with the severe and graceful lines of the mature Piedmontese baroque. The most valuable parts are the door, the grand staircase, the ballroom and the noble "chapel of the Crucifix". It is home to the multimedia museum "Theatre of the landscape of Langhe and Roero" and the “Museum of chalk ceilings”.

GEOLOCATION.
- Medieval castle of Monteu Roero,, located on top of Mons Acutus which gives its name to the town, has origins in the year 1000, but was partly rebuilt between 1570-1575 in the form that has come down to us today. Of particular value are the two halls frescoed in the late 16th and 17th centuries, depicting cycles of Greek myths, a fireplace sculpted in Renaissance style and a Hebe statue from the Canova school.

GEOLOCATION.
- Roero count’s medieval castle of Monticello d'Alba.
Considered among the most impressive and best preserved medieval castle buildings in Piedmont. In a splendid elevated position, it was rebuilt by the Malabaila family between 1342 and 1348, with two full-height towers, battlements and a walkway. Sold to the Roero family (to whom it still belongs) it underwent some renovation changes, maintaining its fascinating medieval appearance.

- Sanfrè Castle and park.
The castle dates back to the beginning of the 1200s, but burned down by the Spanish, it was rebuilt in the mid-16th century into an imposing stately home with bastions and a protected passage that joins it to the parish church.

GEOLOCATION.
- Castle and Park of Ceresole d'Alba (Cn)
Castle which belonged to the Roero family since 1374, it suffered significant damage during the clashes following the battle of Ceresole, and starting from 1649 it saw significant changes, adding two small wings and a wall with an entrance portal delimiting a small internal courtyard.

Castle of medieval origins but transformed in the following centuries into a noble residence, still inhabited by the family who was enfeoffed there in 1600.

A path discovering the hidden treasure among the sandy walls of slopes, until the limits of the Cava Caudana (Caudana Cave), the richest deposit of fossils of this area.

An easy path along the plain cultivated of stream Borbore guides to the impervious slopes of the coppice wood where clinging vineyards leave the place to the Torion pine forest.

S1 - Grande Sentiero del Roero
More than one hundred and sixty hectares of wood, occupied for a third by almost secular trees, two ponds (the Lake of Brooms and the Lake of Herons), paths with walkways, parking structures, pic-nic places, a gym-sporting path with soccer field, toys and equipment for children.

Sentiero dei Mulini
Apath that leads from Magliano Alfieri to Guarene following the old plain road near the Tanaro river and its channels, where there was a lot of popular mills.

Sentiero dei Castelli
This is a path which connects the baroque residence of Alfieri family of Magliano Alfieri to the Savoy one of Govone, belonging to Unesco heritage.

Sentiero dell'Acino
The Path of the Grape enhances the countryside planted with vineyards and orchards of the municipalities of Guarene and Castagnito. From the vineyards of these panoramic ridges, the great wines of the region are produced: the Roero d.o.c.g. and the Roero Arneis d.o.c.g.
The Path, formed by two ring-shaped paths connected between them, can be also only half walked. This path coincides for a long part with the S3 Path, the poles of which can be followed and is particularly suitable for MTB use.

S4 - Roero Centrale

From the hilltop of S.Vittoria d'Alba to Vezza d'Alba, passing through the villages of the central part of Roero: Monticello, Corneliano and Piobesi. A panoramic walking into wild woods, vineyards and cultivated areas in the heart of Roero looking its medieval castles.

The trail runs through all the villages in the river Tanaro valley(Castagnito, Castellinaldo, Govone, Guarene, Magliano Alfieri, Priocca). Better to be done in two stages.
